To Liberty Caps, Tritons, and student interviewers the Waidner Admissions House is a home-away-from-home; it’s cozy, social, bright, and there’s always free coffee! But now, it’s SUSTAINABLE too! Yesterday the Waidner Admissions House earned LEED Gold Certification for it’s numerous initiatives to be environmentally-friendly. Check out the article below to hear how this 115-year old house became the fourth LEED Gold certified building on our campus, and to get a sneak-peek at the LEED certified buildings to come!

Two weeks ago Bill McKibben came to visit Dickinson and he stopped by the Treehouse for a morning chat!
What an awesome opportunity!
The semester is winding down which means lots of papers and projects and finals are coming up SO soon. And I realize that particularly for these bigger projects, I check Facebook A LOT to procrastinate from doing work. It’s not even like I’m doing anything on Facebook, I’m literally doing nothing…
Hey tumblrs…guess what we found! Treekids on Tumblr!! This is a really great account to follow for a view inside the “Treehouse” (Dickinson’s well-known and well-loved special interest house for Sustainable Living). We’re enjoying reading past posts and looking forward to more photos, news, updates from our wonderful treekids.
This may be a few weeks late, but here are some pics from our most recent Treehouse dinner!! After the Eco-Olympics were over, the loosing team, Team Iceland, promised to prepare a dinner for Team Switzerland.
So what did we make???? CREPES!!! That’s right, we’re fancy at the Treehouse! There were savory crepes with spinach and tomatoes; as well as sweet crepes with Nutella, peanut butter strawberries, and bananas. We also had an apples and cheese appetizer and sweet potato homefries! We ate like champs!
It was a so much fun to hang out with each other outside of meetings and just share a meal. We may all live together, but we don’t necessarily get to see each other all that often because we are so busy. Almost everyone made the dinner, and that is a pretty impressive feat.
