Today marked the 52nd anniversary of an iconic visit by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to the Dickinson and Carlisle communities. In honor of King’s visit, the college unveiled a plaque commemorating his eloquent words that day. Both President Durden ‘71 and Paula Lima-Jones (Director of Diversity Initiatives) spoke on the impact of King’s visit and the ways in which his vision can be seen at Dickinson today. Michael Cook ‘13 concluded the ceremony by singing MLK’s favorite hymn, “Take My Hand, Precious Lord.”
